Alpenglow Luxury Camping is perfect for a party of two, with tents that accommodate a pair comfortably. Upon request, we can accommodate up to three people in a luxury tent with an additional charge of $30 for the third person.
Our traditional-style canvas tents are set on a permanent cedar floor with an 8′ covered porch and include plenty of blankets and a comforter to keep you cozy at night. Two Adirondack chairs allow you to enjoy the spacious deck and beautiful views of the Matanuska Glacier and valley.
Our tents do not have electricity, but you are welcome to charge electronics in our dining area, just a short walk down the path from your tent. In addition to our dining area, this area includes a lush green lawn and campfire area. Nestled in nearby trees is our wood-burning hot tub with great views of the nearby peaks.
Our cute and tidy outhouse is just a short walk from the tent. Flushing toilets are also available for use just two minutes up the path.

FAQ
Where do I check in?
Check-in is located at the MICA Guides office at the yurt. There you will be greeted and shown the property. Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sorry, but we will not check in guests that arrive later than 10 p.m. Check-out is at 10 a.m.
What is your cancellation policy at Alpenglow Luxury Camping?
The full balance of your reservation is due at the time of booking. Should you shorten the length of your reservation within 7 days of arrival or choose an early departure during your stay, you will be responsible for the entire time reserved.
Do you allow children at Alpenglow Luxury Camping?
If traveling with children, we may be able to accommodate your family if you book all of our luxury tents. This ensures other guests will not be staying that night. In no cases can we accommodate children under 8 years.
Can I cook food for myself at Alpenglow Luxury Camping?
No. We are not a campground and do not have areas for guests to cook food. There is a list of recommended restaurants in the area that can be found on the MICA Guides website.
What do we need to bring for our stay at Alpenglow Luxury Camping?
Warm jacket, rain jacket, personal toiletries. We have soap to wash hands and take bucket showers with. It is difficult to wash hair with a bucket shower, so we recommend not bringing shampoo. All of your linens and towels are provided. Since we use a solar energy system, please do not plan to use hair dryers.
What temperatures are we to expect at Alpenglow Luxury Camping?
The temperature at Alpenglow Luxury Camping is between 40 and 70°F. The early and late seasons can bring colder temperatures at night, but it warms up during the day.
Are your canvas tents heated?
No. The tents are not equipped with heaters, but we do provide warm blankets and a 750 fill down comforter to make sure you stay warm at night.

MICA Location
Directions to MICA Guides:
Google Maps is accurate with our physical locations, but driving times often do not account for road construction and other factors.
Do not rely on GPS to get to our location, many guests in the past have unfortunately missed their trips relying on this method.
Directions from Anchorage:
Take the Glenn Hwy (Route 1) NORTH out of the city towards Glennallen/Palmer.
At the Glenn Highway/Parks Highway junction (mile 35) take the PALMER exit on your right to stay on the Glenn Hwy heading towards
Palmer **You must exit the 4-Lane highway to stay on the Glenn Highway. – Do NOT go towards Wasilla.
Continue on the Glenn Hwy through Palmer (mile 42), Sutton (mile 62) and Chickaloon (Mile 76) then keep driving another 20+ miles
Follow our directions and look for the small green “Mileposts” on the side of the road. MICA Guides is at Milepost 102.5.
Combo Tours
“There’s more to do in Glacier View!”
If you are making the drive out to Glacier View, why not take full advantage of what the area has to offer? Below are our suggestions for pairing your zipline with other activities in the area, with time for lunch before or after your tour.
Ice Fall Trek
Each Ice Fall Trek will last approximately 4 hours.
- If your trek begins at 9:30 a.m., start your Zipline Adventure at 3:30 or 5:30 p.m.
- If your trek begins at 11:30 a.m., start your Zipline Adventure at 5:30 p.m.
- If your trek begins at 2 p.m., begin your day with an 11 a.m. Zipline Adventure.
- If your trek begins at 4 p.m., begin your day with an 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. Zipline Adventure.
Advanced Trek
If you are booked onto an Advanced Trek, end your day with a 5:30 p.m. Zipline Adventure. This does make for a long day, so consider spending the night with us at Alpenglow Luxury Camping
Ice Climb
Unfortunately, for timing purposes, a Matanuska Glacier Ice Climb and the Zipline Adventure would need to be split over two days.
